Let's read the cards

Whatever work we've been doing - practice, study, etc - has honed our mind into a sharp implement. We're ready to embody all that we've learned, we can see clearly and understand

That's where we've needed to go; we're done with one step, so ready for the next

It's about time Mick Foley made this choice, but it's the right choice.

Nothing but respect for Mick.
Mick Foley with more integrity than the entire WWE roster

Let's read the cards

We've been holding tightly to everything - maybe too tightly - but now it's time to let go. To feel inspired, active, to start something.

If we let go there can be excitement now and, if these new ventures play out, the chance to get everything we want.

All this. To me Gaston is one of the scariest Disney villains, not because of anything he does but because everyone (aside frm Belle) loves him.

He's a narcissist, he's a bully, he's a brute. He's incurious and casually cruel and self centered. He's all that and the townspeople adore him.
Here's
the
thing

What's to be gained by any information. Gaston's story ends in B&B. He's shown mercy, stabs the Beast who showed him that mercy IN THE BACK, and dies.

I don't need nor want a

*record scratch*

Bet you wonder how I ended up here.

We don't need a retcon where he magically lives
I do not want Gaston backstory, I do not need Gaston backstory, I reject Gaston backstory

he is a fully formed oaf, consuming eggs by the dozen in one of the greatest villain songs ever written, and that is all we need of him

Let's read the cards

We're scared and sad in the darkness of winter, but that means it's time to move on

What we want can be a tone of things, but what we need now, in this moment, is steadiness. Put dreams on hold, and shelter ourselves and others with a structure, a firm hand

Let's read the cards

Sometimes when we're juggling too many options we just need to throw caution to the wind and go with our gut

This isn't a time for analyzing, but for feeling. Let's go forward by doing what feels right.

Have faith, have heart

The Terminator.

I loved that movie. I liked the lack of initial context, I like how we discovered it all as e went along, I liked how relentless the Terminator was, especially at the end.

Great movie and, for my money, more impactful than any of the sequels

The #Mets made a move, but everything so far seems a downgrade or, at best, neutral.

Nimmo, Diaz, Alonso out. (7.3fWAR)
Semien, Williams, Polanco in (6.4fWAR)

At BEST Williams for Diaz is a wash, Semien for Nimmo trades defense for offense, ditto for Alonso for Polanco.

We saved money and years

I have a few things I consider the secret to happiness.

One is to enjoy things without being good at them or -especially - trying to monetize them.

Let's read the cards

We feel that we have what we need, but nothing is forever; the world's gives, the world takes, things change unexpectedly

We don't see clearly what is to come next, which fork in the road will lead back to what we want

Let's trust ourselves to choose well

Let's read the cards

Wow. Things are unsettled at home, and it has us feeling the pain. That's OK, sometimes we have to sit with it before we get through it.

Better things are possible; it's time to focus on something concrete to redirect ourselves.

Deep breaths, move onward.

Some days I need to see things like this, as trite as it is.

It gives the same little rush as a positive daily tarot draw. Chuck Tingle is a true buckaroo.
really DANG excited for another day. such a blessing to be here

There's a lot too this; also we need to remember that the OG "Moneyball" book was about Billy Beane trying to win without spending; to compete with the Yankees despite a lower budget.

It's partially about finding market inefficiencies, part being clever, and part being risk-averse. for example...
I think Moneyball is responsible for making some people feel that they should approach sports with cold, stoic, computer like rationality. wrong! sports are dumb and we’re dumb for liking them! it’s good to keep them in perspective but if we didn’t have emotional connections they wouldn’t exist!
Of course you're irrational; sports fandom is irrational. Why should we care if a team wearing a certain uniform and playing how games on a specific stadium wins or loses? Why should we follow the farm team, dreaming of the day a specific kid might make the big leagues?

Let's read the cards

The is a powerful moment - one to trust our intuition, even blindly. One to have faith, to start off and do, damn the consequences. It will be OK - even if we have to go it alone.

Within us we have all we need. Look inward, but step forth

It's time to.

I'm sad that we won't have Diaz on the #Mets anymore, but I always blame ownership ad never the player.

Last time I was salty about a player leaving it was that pitcher who went to Colorado for the better schools; it stings less because we got an OK guy with the compensatory draft pick.

If you still support the Republican party in any way shape of form you are a racist, full stop.

There's not even a scintilla of plausible deniability anymore.
Trump: “Why do we take in people only from ‘shithole’ countries? Why can’t we take people from Norway, Sweden, Denmark. Send us some good people, please. But we always take people from Somalia… from places that are dirty, disgusting, criminal.”

For #MetsSky friends recovering from yesterday:

Schwarber's 5 year deal likely means that Pete - a 2 year younger right-handed version of the same player - can get the same

Stearns isn't the type of GM to give long-term lasting to the late thirties of questionable defenders

Be ready for more pain

Does your job suck?

If so, good news: Alison's annual "worst boss of the year" bracket will make you feel SO MUCH BETTER about whatever hellhole you endure for a paycheck.

Let's read the cards

With all that's been happening lately it's no wonder we're wracked with pain and worry

We need to have faith that when things seem to come crashing down it's not just an end, but an opportunity; in the ruins we need the strength to give, the grace to accept

Diaz got a three year deal worth $69M?

Nice.

(and yes, as a #Mets fan I hate this. I'll miss the trumpets)

Let's read the cards

As we're nearing the end of the year things are wrapping up - and successfully. It has us feeling ready to handle anything, but not in an overly aggressive way. Calm, ready, centered

We're feeling protective of all we've gained, not ready for new chances

For my #FantasyBook friends - in a year that saw new works from several of my favorite authors I just finished my absolute favorite read of the year.

Time Travel
Arthurian legent
The nature of myths, and legends
Romance

Let's read the cards

Moving onward and away from things is hard, especially when we're anchored by close partnerships. We ARE moving though, and we're not looking back.

This puts us in a weird in-between place, but once from which we can find inner clarity before reconnecting

Got it in one, but wow.. there were a few names there I've not thought of in years. Robin Ventura joins Starling Marte as the best #Mets players named after birds.

Let's read the cards

We feel like we're at a crossroads and, though curious and eager, don't see the right path to take.

We on our head and hearts *know* what is right, but there's still something we don't see.

If we trust ourselves it will become clear
