*sigh*

This is the first I'm hearing it.

Disappointed, not surprised.

It was always the thin end of a wedge. People think I'm an extremist for givnig a hard "fuck you" to restriction of trans people in sports.

we probably talked about this last time you did this exercise, but in the 1980s Run DMC did a version of this (with Aerosmith, of course)

It's a lovely movie. As an atheist who was almost brought up Catholic so much of it resonates; Father Jud is a good priest and Benoit Blanc is a good atheist. Neither of them have the toxic certainty that poisons the worst in their movements.

In following you for the absolutely lovely and thoughtful thread.

NO ONFIELD CELEBRATIONS

I was assuming we'd extend Skubal; if we can't I agree that I'm not interested in giving up a package including Jonah Tong and other top prospects for a one year rental.

I don't want be greedy, but I wanted Tarik Skrubal or Cody Bellinger or Muketaka Murakami as a birthdya present, not another solid relief pitcher.

Something with some sizzle, please.

Ironic that this comes on a day Paula chose Joe Torre as her random Met of the day.

So now if you want to link Steve Tyler to Zachary James or to Penn Gillette you can. (I met and even performed with the former, JUST missed getting to pass juggling clubs with the latter because I had a working lunch the ONE DAY he showed up at the park)

Some days the whole damn world is stacked against us, but .. you get up every day, you put one foot in front of the other. You get that kid to daycare.

One step at a time, one day at a time.

It will get better.

After all, as it was written:

🎵Yeah from the first day of your life
You were born into this gunfight with a knife
Cause the dice is always loaded
The coins all wear two grins
The devil pays the dealer for his multitude of sins
But whichever way the roulette wheel spins
The house always wins🎵

I'm not in that exact moment now, but it comes, goes, and comes back again with a vengeance.

You're not a failure for struggles; WE aren't a failure when we struggle. It's the cycles of life, it's an unfair world.

This, of course, falls on my birthday! This is what 53 looks like.

Oooh, I was talking to someone else ( @llwyfen73.bsky.social ?) about degrees of separation the other day. Here's another:

The B-side of the single "Dream On" was "Somebody". My former boss Steve Emspak - a friend of Steven Tyler's at the time - has a co-writing credit on that song.
December 17, 2025 at 2:26 PM
I still think you should have included Don't Fear the Reaper in 1976.
December 17, 2025 at 2:21 PM
Eh. I'm sure nothing big.
December 17, 2025 at 2:20 PM
Stearns doesn't like long contracts and probably didn't see Nimmo's deal as aging well.

If he wants Bellinger this also makes a space on the OF for him - and we got a much needed middle infielder.
