"Hope your favorite show gets cancelled" is basic. "Hope one of your favorite show's lead actors' career and reputation is ruined, leading to the studio editing her out from every scene but still keeping the show on air as a shallow husk of its former self" is smart. It's possible. It's terrifying.

In Japan, a celebrity’s talent agency holds inordinate power over them and how their image/likeness is used by companies who hire that talent.
While we will never know the whole story, I would say it’s a much safer bet to direct your anger to the talent agency, not Toei.

It's absolutely insane how a really solid SuperHero-Time pairing has the wind knocked out of its sails, and it's all because of a massive mishandling of a situation by both TOEI and the talent agency involved. Hard to feel any amount of excitement for both ongoing series because of this, how sad.

I'd assumed the unlikely worst case scenario would be she'd actually been fired a while ago and they were only announcing it now as the first episode without her was coming up.
The actual even worse real thing that's happening is she's being edited out of the remaining episodes she already filmed.

sumino's still going down as one of the better highlights of gozyuger and maya brought a charm to this show that stood out so much from the others. i just hope everything will turn out positively for her because she's amazing. they can never take away how much of a gem she is

I'll probably have more and more annoyed thoughts tomorrow, but it is important to remember above all that Sumino was a great layerd character who was more challenging to pull off with the tone switches that might seem obvious and Maya Imamori was brilliant at it and deserves better.
sumino's still going down as one of the better highlights of gozyuger and maya brought a charm to this show that stood out so much from the others. i just hope everything will turn out positively for her because she's amazing. they can never take away how much of a gem she is
