An ambush in last night's RuneQuest game almost killed our trickster; an arrow to the left leg nearly finished him off.

Our healer was standing right next to him, already intending to heal him. Otherwise, he'd have died.

I wasn’t sure initially about the shield device. I was going to give it a few days and see if I still felt the same and paint over it, but I’ve come round to actually liking it a lot. Tied 1st with the star surrounded by laurel wreath.

This detail amused me because I had an English teacher who told us that if you shove an opened wine bottle up your arse neck first, you have to break the bottom of it to pull it out, or it forms a vacuum and yanks your guts out with it. But this was public school in the 1980s, so…

Your 400 DVDs can live in a box next to the one with a couple of hundred of mine in it.

She had some sort of personal assistant job at a company run by one of her parents' friends. It never seemed clear to us that she actually *did* anything at that job.

She was a nice enough person in herself, just very blind to how privileged she was.

In the early 90s, a friend of mine went out with a very posh girl who had a flat in Battersea.

She called it "Buh-tur-see-ah".

And kept complaining how very unfair it was that her parents had only given her £120,000 to buy a flat.

I never really warmed to her.

Sigh. I'll only bring this "accurate" stuff up if all the players are ok with it. And, most importantly, only if we can make it fun for them to subvert, overcome, or work around those prejudices.

Never to use it as a sledgehammer to ruin people's fun.

Especially not in an alt-history!

I once spent 30 mins looking for my door keys. After looking EVERYWHERE, I realised I was idly spinning my keyring round the index finger on my left hand.

I'd picked them up unthinkingly. The last place I was going to look for them was *in my hand*, right?

No idea how long I'd been holding them.
