This is not a "students today" post--it's more "this is a new form of dysfunction" that doesn't look exactly like it's been in previous decades. It's more than just "first-year chaos." It's an across-the-board inability to process instructions, engage with longer texts, and *connect* with others.

This is so true. There are episodes of this show that live rent free in my head just all the time. It was so formative. Now that there are people on the internet who were born after the show even aired...just a PSA that if you havent watched the X-Files you really owe it to yourself.
The X-Files is genuinely a timelessly good show, because when not focusing on overarching conspiracy plot, they would really just focus on a single concept and quite crucially, it would cast an incredible actor to center the episode around who would be utterly god damn captivating to watch.

So we drove an hour & 1/2 to the in-laws' house for Thanksgiving, only to discover they changed it to tomorrow. We are now driving home. 💀
