Today I learned that Confucius invented Yaoi
*slams table* IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME NOT HER
Markiplier's Hearts and Heroes playthrough makes me think a lot. It's kind of inarguable that parasociality has poisoned the terminally online, but that video made me realize that it definitely goes beyond that. It's not just "parasociality" and "poison". It's a bit hard to explain.
the caption matches what my brain is saying lol
Nothing like a good ol santorum splash
nah, it isn't. If you consider any form of criticism to be pedantry, I don't think I'm the one lacking perception here. I took multiple issues and said multiple things about the original post. If you consider them all to be pedantry, I don't think words can save you.
nah. I'm autistic and reading tone can be hard for me. I genuinely do not know which of several points you could have been making with that sentence. Clarify please, so that I can properly respond and not punch shadows with points that weren't made.
sorry if this seemed aggressive I'm just annoyed cuz the post that spawned all this is literally the same as what got popular on Twitter, some nothingburger brainless complaint that seems good on the surface but after a few seconds of thought (unheard of on social media) is easily disputed.
It's almost like most people who engage in any sort of virality on social media are going to be people that want to have something to say, which when filtered through algorithms that follow what you already interact with in *any* emotional way, leads to arguments. I'm tired of posts like OP's lol.
I've created and deleted 5 different responses each addressing a different point you could be trying to make here. What is your point?
exactly. Pedantic is being overused as a term these days.
yeah exactly lol, I think OP just has blind nostalgia. I was on Twitter for a while and most replies were always reaction bait and arguments, and this was before it turned into "X".
Thanks for saying something of subtance here instead of what OP and most of this reply section produced.
Every social media platform has this issue. Idk why it being more leftist would make anyone think the algo wouldn't drive humans to do the same things we do on other sites.
But to be fair this IS the perfect Twitter post. It says something wrong so matter-of-factly that people don't think for 5 seconds before liking and the algo boost causes a chain reaction of arguments, pedantry, callouts, etc. OP and all else like em feel like plants to me sometimes lmao
Were you just... not on twitter? Idk why people think that this place is worse than Twitter or literally any other platform that relies on emotional reactions for money. There will be useless discourse. Personally I appreciate that it doesn't include many slurs here.
I could see this immediately after I read your comment lol, I appreciate it
From my experiences "both genders" contribute equally in the harm, but the power structure allows for the men/boys to commit crimes and abuse, which is more televised. idk, could just be a personal experience thing on my end. I have met a lot of people though.
the traditional concepts of "woman" and "girl" actually are meant to propagate patriarchy, and everyone in the older gens caught in the false gender binary can absolutely instill horrible experiences and ideas that push young AMABs into fascist rheroric down the line.
I got his account banned by reporting him on multiple posts with slurs right before sending that last message. I was a no-life preteen counter-troll. Don't be like me back then btw it's never worth the time investment for the schadenfraude.
I remember getting into a week-long debate with a homophobe on Instagram who had a princess peach pfp that was one of the first frames of a gay nsfw vid and when their points started repeating themselves and he resorted to slurs I dropped that bomb on him and got blocked immediately lol
It's crazy how many people reference 18+ art absolutely everywhere. I know people (including/like me) probably shouldn't be *this* plugged into nsfw art feeds, but it grants you Eagle Vision but for fellow "degenerates" and "gooners".
You're actually cooking really hard with this story, it actually almost feels like the beginning of a ttrpg campaign and that takes skill especially through the purely visual medium of detailed frames of story.
