The Trump administration is offering $60K in student loan forgiveness as a recruitment tool for ICE, which just proves fighting Biden on student loan relief was never about the loans or “paying your own debt.” It was about who was offering it and who it would’ve helped.
The performances are all solid, though Carter's introduction is a little rough. It's hard to believe it's been almost 30 years since I first watched this.
Stargate SG-1 1x01/1x02: "Children of the Gods": It's been a long time since I watched the series premiere, but it is a reasonably good start to the show. It updates the lore and stakes in some interesting ways, and manages a solid story on a cable television budget. #stargatesg1

The Declaration of Independence specifies 27 grievances with King George III and Britain.

Donald Trump and his regime have committed at least 20 of those same offenses highlighted in yellow.

Even if Mitsuki has discovered there is more than meets the eye with the aliens. With only one episode left, it feels like there is way too much still left to resolve.
Invasion 3x09: "Homecoming": The writers skip some of the more obvious questions raised by the previous episode, preferring to push the conflict between WDC and Infinitas. Though I have to say, the more we hear from Infinitas, the less sense they make. #invasion

Christian nationalist podcaster Joshua Haymes says Christians must be willing to defend the institution of slavery because the Bible makes it clear that "it is not inherently evil to own another human being." www.peoplefor.org/rightwingwat...
I have a theory that the main female protagonist of Tron: Ares was originally meant to be Quorra. So much of the plot would make far more sense to me. (To get into it would mean getting into spoiler territory, though.)

Misread a Christmas movie title as "My Secret Satan", and now I want to see that movie instead.
Now playing:

Sammy Hagar: The Best of All Worlds Band: The Residency (2025)

We heard this lineup during the tour that came before the residency in Vegas. It was a great show!

Somehow an item that I bought online from Best Buy at the end of September is already outside the return window. In what world do they give you two weeks for a return? It was a gift...we didn't find out until after it was received that the listed specifications on the website were completely wrong.
It's a little frustrated how many subplots never were resolved in The Return, but many of them are covered in The Final Dossier book.
Twin Peaks 2x22: "Beyond Life and Death": At the time, this was the series finale, which left so many of us banging our own heads against the mirror in frustration. But what a finale it was! To this day, there are elements that are still debated and analyzed. #twinpeaks
Some of Marie's choices don't really make much sense, even accounting for all the manipulation. That said, it sets up a fun season finale.
Gen v 2x07: "Hell Week": I didn't see that twist at the end of the episode coming, though in retrospect, the hints were there. It felt like the episode was marking time a bit until the final confrontation, though. #theboys #genv
I like how everyone in the story is getting a character moment throughout the episode. They do a lot with a few lines of dialogue.
Slow Horses 5x04: "Missiles": I had a feeling how this episode would end, and it's fairly close to how things went down in the novel. Most of the episode, however, changes things up a bit to keep everyone in the audience on their toes. #slowhorses
This week's comic book pick:

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – The Seeds of Salvation 2

Holy shit. This is Angelo Elia, a legislative correspondent for Congressman Dave Taylor.

According to @rooster.info, during a Zoom meeting today, he had an American nazi flag displayed in the background.
Surprisingly, Jared Leto did a reasonable job, given the script.
Tron: Ares (2025): I wanted to like this a lot more than I did. It's very stylish and looks great on the big screen. And the soundtrack is killer. My main issue is with the story. It ignores way too much of Tron: Legacy and spends far too much time in the real world vs. the Grid. #tronares

1)You may remember the articles criticizing liberal students for their hesitancy to make friends with conservative students—alleging that they were less open-minded than their conservative counterparts.
Today’s commuting pick:

Discipline: Breadcrumbs (2025)

We got to hear a good amount of this album live over the weekend, which was a treat! I really have to explore more of their catalog.

I'm shocked. Stunned, I say. Nothing about this is entirely predictable.
POLITICO: “.. They referred to Black people as monkeys and ‘the watermelon people’ and mused about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies .. and lauded Republicans who they believed support slavery.
