The DSM did have sex addiction (and porn was roped in) in 1987, to be clear, but removed it in 2000 citing lack of evidence. 2013 had a push to include it that failed. 2022 didn't have any push to include.

Funny enough, I just got into this today. Apparently, the psychiatric community does not recongized porn addiction. The WHO does recongize a broad category of sexual disorders that can include it but it requires harm to occur to ones self or others. The other removed it in 2000 for lack of evidence.

Trust me when I say that we can ALWAYS use another. I spent 3 years designing and playtesting mine because there was a lack of games in the genre. That has been approved slowly. But, we can always use more, for sure. Especially some never ended coming out.

I saw a discussion on #Reddit that made me consider that a lot of the widespread success of #Baldur'sGate3 may come from the fact it took many of the elements of its genre and made it appealing to casual audience. A niche genre that is usually done as lowbudget indies with AAA production values
