For better and worse, RN was deeply a man of my own parents' generation and ilk. The ambitions and resentments of insecure middle class young people in the Depression. The need for iron self-discipline in order to get anywhere.

There is, Marc. It may take a long time to see or feel it, The first medal is for surviving. The champion medal is for thriving. It doesn’t mean that anxiety and depression are forever gone. You can learn coping skills with therapy and possibly Rxs so if/when they return you’re not overwhelmed.
