Cheesecake in a tin, among scattered cooking paraphernalia: a recipe book, dirty mixing bowl, measuring mug and spoon, scales, knife, half an orange. Chocolate pudding on a plate. Tomorrow I'll make it look pretty... Domed cookies dusted with icing sugar, cooling on a baking tray.

This is a world of smoke & mirrors, & the senses can easily be deceived.

Learning to spend more time in the OnlyPosts feed - I often find the Following feed too noisy, and then spend all my time in my Lists and it's too quiet 😆 OnlyPosts feels like a good balance!

There are many places to find essential, real, awful news. When I’m sharing online I ask myself: Should I post it? Maybe. Will it make people feel better? Then, yes. Will it make people at the least, not feel worse? Ok sure. Will they feel worse? Then, no. People need a break. I can be that break ❤️

A collection of patterns from my local patch, for #LentoAdvent
An animal-made pattern: cabbage moth eggs closely packed around the veins of a leaf. Each one has fine ridges from top to bottom, a brown line around the middle and a brown spot on top. A sky-made pattern: a mackerel sky with closely packed small white clouds in a single layer, and blue sky showing between them. A plant-made pattern: the bare red stems of, ummm, Virginia creeper I think, mainly branching outward from a point top centre. They're covered in blue berries, and their shadows crisscross all over the fence behind them. A man-made pattern: bright white fairy lights in vertical lines adorn a gold-coloured metal grid, against a backdrop of dark buildings at night.

Between two rows of bare winter trees a Fallow Deer stag is galloping away from the camera towards fog filled landscape, it appears as a silhouette against the fog. I chose this as I love the atmosphere the foggy morning has created and because it is the first picture of a Fallow Deer that I have managed to get.
