A grateful heart is a resilient heart.

#Gratitude is the antidote to suffering. We suffer according to our level of self-pity - or how much we internalise and identify with the bad thing. But you can't feel self-pity and gratitude at the same time - they are opposites! #ChooseJoy 💚 #TinyJoys
We finally got stuck into our ONE garden squash from last year to make this stew (original version) and it smells INCREDIBLE! Almost like a melon, so fragrant! 🍜🍽️🌱😋

Managed a few hours gardening before the rain - mostly pruning climbing roses, but this magic little woodlandy corner kept catching my eye 😍🌱💚

Oops. I've managed to plan lots things I want to do on Friday and Saturday (and certain important things I've been putting off all week) without a thought for the two lengthy appointments I've got on Friday and Saturday 😬🤭

There is zero shame in being affected, positively or negatively, by what happens to impact you. The world is real good at telling us we "shouldn't" laugh or cry at certain things-- but the truth is, what moves us moves us. It's okay.

Let you BE you.

#Writetip: If you gave 100 authors the same story prompt you’d get 100 different stories. If you’re all writing in the same genre, there may be tropes that overlap, but the truth is, no two would write the exact same story. THAT is what makes you special. Your voice.

The Wanting Monster: A Tender Modern Fable about the Difficult Art of Resting at the Still Point of Enough
Wanting is the menacing margin of error between desire and need. It is the blade that vivisects your serenity, the hammer that shatters your wholeness — to want anything is to deem your life …

Cheaty sardine 'bolognese' tonight was a success! I just sautéed roughly chopped mushrooms, and added a tin of sardines and a jar of garlicky pasta sauce. #DairyFree cashew/nutritional yeast parmesan substitute on top was nice too 😋🍜🍽️

Our Darwin’s orchid (Angraecum sesquipedale) is in flower.
Its incredibly long nectar tube led Darwin to predict a pollinator that didn’t yet exist — and he was later proven right when a hawkmoth was discovered with an equally long proboscis.
📍Find it in the Tropical Glasshouse near the Jade vine.

Writing Tip:
You don't have to have all the answers when you start writing. You don't even need to have an ending hammered down. Just start. You'll figure out the words over time. It's starting that is often the hardest part. The rest will come.

Been adding a couple of new scenes to act 1 of the #WIP to strengthen the setup and improve pacing. When I do this I always worry they'll feel tacked on or not fully necessary... But they often end up completely exceeding my expectations. These two certainly have! 💥💥✍🏻 #AmWriting #MethodicalPantser
