I've inadvertently found myself in a position of trust within my company where people DO actually sort of listen to me on genAI, and this has required me to fake a level of social aptitude WELL beyond anything I've had to deal with before.

The most frustrating thing about this for me is that the one I finally got working super fast and well turned out to be contaminated with CSAM. So that was kind of the last straw for me, I guess

I do not like how the term AI has been so diluted that people are under the impression that the Cancer screening thing and the CSAM generator are remotely the same technology because it implies you can't have the former without the latter.

Now that I think about it maybe consultancy firms are the reason execs think genAI models are super geniuses, they're always listening to dudes in suits with nothing but a pedigree tell them things from an external perspective without any experiential knowledge of the internal workings.

For those tempted to say Young Republicans have always been this way, they really have not. When I worked on campus and did bipartisan college events after, they were very much not like this.
That's why groups like YCT and eventually TPUSA formed -because Young Republicans weren't radical enough.
