Dan Campbell said his offense needed to score touchdowns in the red zone. He said it needed to convert on fourth down.

But is Campbell’s desire to win games with his offense still necessary when his defense has turned a corner?

And is it time to adjust?

Lions OC John Morton has handled himself as well as he reasonably could’ve, after losing his play-calling duties.

His comments suggest he’s ready to do whatever it takes. That should be applauded.

“It’s not about me. …The ultimate goal is to win the Super Bowl.”

Dan Campbell sees John Morton as an essential piece to the offense's success. "I told him, 'Man, I need you.’"

You might’ve needed a Google search or five to get up to speed. You won’t find their names on any most-popular jersey lists.

But this Lions secondary — comprised of journeymen, unproven talent, duct tape and a dream — met the moment Monday night.

Here’s how: www.nytimes.com/athletic/673...
Makeshift Lions secondary met the moment in a big way vs. Bucs: ‘We heard all the noise’
With both starting cornerbacks and both starting safeties out, the Lions gave Baker Mayfield and the Bucs' offense fits Monday night.

Brian Branch is far too valuable to the Lions to keep putting himself in situations like this.

He’s been ejected from a game, penalized at inopportune times and now suspended, after letting his emotions consume him.

The Lions need him to figure it out — quickly: www.nytimes.com/athletic/671...
Brian Branch’s actions are hurting the Lions, and he needs to figure it out — quickly
Branch is gaining a reputation in this league and it's not one that he or the Lions want. The situation Sunday night was entirely avoidable.

Aidan Hutchinson had it all. He was playing the best football of his life, for a Super Bowl contender. Then, his dream season came to an end one year ago in Dallas.

But Hutch is now back. And once again, he wants it all.

The Jamo-Goff connection on Sunday was…off. Williams averaged 26.9 air yards per target, but the Lions were just 2-of-8 for 40 yards and an INT throwing his way.

But was it as bad as it looked?

Here’s what the film says:

Goff and Williams connected on just 2 of 8 throws and missed on several potential big plays against the Browns.

“It was time to get after him.”

“We wanted to go out there and put on a little show.”

Yeah, if you don’t think THAT was personal, you don’t know the Detroit Lions.

They reminded the NFL who they were on Sunday.

In one of the more lopsided losses since this team turned the corner, the Lions didn't look like the Lions.

An off day? A sign of things to come? Only time will tell.

The Lions have plenty of it to figure things out. They couldn't on Sunday.

Four years ago, vowing things would be different, the six leaders of this Lions franchise signed a pact.

It contains their core principles. It is signed by all, hanging in their offices.

The Detroit Lions planned for turnover. Years before their turnaround.
