“We had a good relationship with the city and the fans in the rink… I can’t forecast (the reaction), but they’ve been very nice over the years.”

It was a beautiful thing.
At the end of the day I do understand it's a business and I'm not anti business but I'm certainly pro regular people, so maybe I shouldn't be worried about what they do.
Each home game starts by honoring and recognizing the native lands we as Americans occupy.

They continue to work with native groups and charities. Some might argue that's just hush money, maybe it is, but I feel like it's an honest attempt to navigate a delicate situation.
I also came to appreciate the Blackhawks more because it wasn't a caricature. I'm certain there are some, including some native Americans, who are offended and don't like it. My experience with those I've known since childhood, is that the Blackhawks have done things the right way.
Those relationships and interactions hung with me.

As I grew up, logos like the Cleveland Indians and Washington Redskins showed themselves as problematic and racist.

Acts like the Atlanta Braves and Kansas City Chiefs doing their tomahawk chops during games were tone deaf.
As a kid, it was just the way things were. We played Cowboys and Indians. We called our friends Indian givers if they took something back. Oh the irony! It wasn't until I entered school in a part of the country that had a large native American population that I began to see things differently.
I have great respect for the way in which you've presented your pov on the subject and I thank you for the time and care you've put into it.

For some clarification on my history with similar, I grew up with all these mascots that feature native Americans as their name and or primary logo.
I'm one to engage in honest discussion with the knowledge that there is much i can learn. As someone who falls into the category of deploring racism, hate, and inequity, while also not viewing this logo as racist, please educate me.

RIP Drew Struzan, who lured more people into theaters than IMAX and 3D combined.
