At a certain point in an intimate relationship, you gotta ask them “If you had to kill me, how would you do it?”

You have GOT to know how crazy your friends and partners are. You gotta know if you’re the crazier one. You gotta know how to foil their plan they definitely thought of before you asked.

it's not that i ever doubted that being a barista was a skilled position, but my year-long effort to try to produce a half-decent latte at home has convinced me that a good barista is easily more skilled than virtually every c-suite executive on the planet

“0% woke shit”

a black man with a physical disability leads an environmental terrorist cell trying to save the planet from mega-billionaires and you play as a cross dressing twink femdomed by two different women ending and the final boss against the gayest angel of all time

Not to be dramatic, but there is a deep melancholy to this loss in ways that I think I need poetry to convey
Aw, man.

Have to admit, I haven't looked at one of these for years. But when I was ter lad I read it a *lot*. (Also got up super-early on Sunday mornings for the "Farmer's Report" on Channel 56. I was a little odd).

Ave atque vale!

In light of climate change, I petition to add dressing up in costumes to some summer holiday so we can be slutty without freezing.

No moving Halloween. We’re keeping that.

Just add costumes to something else.

WOW okay unfollowing her now. Was a massive fan of her work and respected her as a shrewd business woman but had no idea she was stealing young mermaid's voices and putting them in seashells.

I'm getting old enough I either have aged out, or am starting to age out, of most of the discounted theater ticket programs. So obviously I'm biased. But I think they should also have discounted programs for single theatergoers and self-employed theatergoers.

I already respected ASMR creators as pros/sometimes even artists, but let me tell you that level of respect skyrocketed when I realized/confirmed that they shoot the whole video and then go back and frickin’ Foley their sounds back over the top of them. For these hours-long sessions. Just wild.

We need a Ring(tm)-dong-ditch, for the children.

You can’t make people get up off their couch to answer the door only to have there be no one there anymore. The children have no pastimes.

What’s the equivalent harmless thing you can do to someone’s camera doorbell that makes them Do Something?

In 1800 Elma Sands’ body was found dumped in a well in New York City. When they found her discarded corpse, the first thing they did was perform a pregnancy test. This was standard practice when finding a woman’s body, because it was highly likely a suicide or murder was due to an unwanted pregnancy

We own a house collectively with a few friends and use it as a perk for our CEO, who lives there for free. Tenant is bombastic so when he started talking about building on to the house we shrugged. Woke up today to photos of him demolishing the house. That we own. Any lawyers have advice?

Halloween costumes are becoming even more an invitation to joy w/strangers. Pop culture is so fragmented, there’s few icons everyone knows. So when someone recognizes you as someone from some show out of ????? out this year, it feels so exciting to share — we both liked the thing! You’re my people!

Million myriad other reasons aside for hating AI being up in the job search process, one thing that deeply infuriates me in particular is that I never consented to letting these companies have my resume — or sometimes video interview responses — to train their shitty software that doesn’t even work.

Do the WoW children today know about More Dots? Have they been told of 50 DKP minus? Have the ancient texts survived? They love a crash out, so that last one seems ripe for translation to a new era

I know this is niche content and has only 🤏🏻 overlap with my usual audience, but I’ve been wanting a new hockey jersey for a couple seasons now and I am explicitly waiting for this Fanatics contract with the NHL to end because I refuse to spend jersey $$$$$ on fast fashion stitching and fabrics -_-

This week:

-Three more universities rejected Trump's extortion compact
-Over a dozen airports refused to play Kristi Noem's propaganda video
-30+ press outlets refused to comply with Pete Hegseth's new restrictions

The only way to rebuke Trump's authoritarianism is solidarity.

Living a moral life in an age of bullies requires collective action; it cannot be done alone. Each of us must organize and participate in a vast network of moral resistance. From this solidarity we will grow stronger. This is what our current moment requires.
