The west no longer has the capacity to economically support a band/group
Chris Evans (the English one) said that the 🇬🇧 charts have recently passed the 10 year mark for "no number ones by bands", depending on whether the KPop Demon Hunters are a band or not. Is this "era of the solo artist" a global phenomen?

I kept seeing this dance on Instagram and tiktok and thinking to myself, "this is so eastern European coded, this is the folk dance of forgotten Slavic people like the Wends or some shit."

Upon two seconds of inspection this is in fact in Moscow

This is outrageously propagandistic
When it comes to modern war, Ireland is a high-value target: its waters on the western fringe of Europe contain three-quarters of all undersea cables in the northern hemisphere. Despite this, is unprotected and unprepared.

An #FTEdit 🧵 on why this determinedly neutral nation is Europe's weak link 👇

Not entirely convinced there's a single European leader Trump likes/respects
Volodymyr Zelenskyy hints at going to Washington with Europeans to finalise the peace framework:

"I am ready to meet with President Trump – there are sensitive points to discuss, we have them still, and we think that the presence of European leaders could be helpful."

Good. Something nice in the news.
BREAKING: This is huge news, the EU's equivalent of the 🇺🇸Supreme Court's 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges ruling.

🇪🇺Court of Justice just ruled all 🇪🇺countries must recognise same-sex marriages granted in other member states.

This effectively legalises gay marriage across 🇪🇺

Ah. When has that ever mattered to the American government.
New polling shows that 70% of Americans say that they would oppose the U.S. taking military action in Venezuela. Over three-quarters of Americans say that the Trump administration hasn’t given proper explanation for potential military action in Venezuela.
Poll Shows 70 Percent in US Disapprove of Striking Venezuela as Trump Mulls War
The US has built up the largest military presence in Latin America in decades off the coast of Venezuela.

So many symbols of Europe (collectively, including the UK) putting defensive politics ahead of responding to the modern world. Which is more than anything else the reason for widespread disillusion and sluggish growth.

rage bait slop about a halal only microwave being from a Morocco based account is a good bit
Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.
