Scares me when I see just how much information and photos some people post on social media about their kids. It's not private even if you think it is.

I'm glad they made this advert, let's hope people actually pay attention.

Just cycled through this down the quays to Connolly. I wouldn’t like to be on anymore than two wheels in town right now. Gridlocked. And considering they’re all beeping all the time, very loud. #Spéirgorm
Taxi drivers in Dublin are staging a protest against Uber's new fixed rates, which is expected to create major traffic delays in the city and at Dublin Airport.

The go-slow protest began at 4:30pm today and is set to last until 6:30pm.

21% reduction for transport sector emissions in 2030 instead of 50%.
This is criminal.

It's easy to add this to the long list of gov failures, but when taken in isolation, each one is a scandal & in unison, a catastrophe.

And yet people keep voting FFG
FFG can't & won't fix it
Vote left

The NDP review has been released and it’s not good news

NO funding for Luas Lucan, Poolbeg or Bray before 2030

No inflation matching for Active Travel

No funding for Dart+ South West

AND they admit we wont even meet half the emissions targets for Transport reduction

This thread from @feljin.ie is just depressing. We’re used to a lack of imagination but this wouldn’t even have been imaginative! @seontrack.bsky.social
There's no funding to reopen the Waterford-Wexford/Rosslare. The All-Island Rail Review recommended reopening this. It's only been closed since 2010 and is being maintained. Would have been huge for regional development.

Four months after it was promised, we finally have the government's transport investment plan between now and 2030. It's bad. Roads are in, public transport is out. A lot of public transport projects being put on the long-finger to make funding available for new roads.

So disappointing! An open goal and such a financially feasible win for the area. The line is still there!
South East Being Left Behind in National
Development Plan

We’re disappointed that the re-opening of the Wexford-Waterford rail line has not been included in today’s published NDP.

The LUAS Red Line was thrown into chaos at rush hour this evening due to an incident at St James's. In order to find out what was going on with the service, the LUAS expected thousands of affected passengers to check their X account. It's ridiculous, enraging, and at this stage totally unacceptable
I posted on X for the first time In ages. Immediately deleted the post. Holy Christ. It’s bad bad. Like sticking your head in a wasps nest

Very sad to hear Margaretta D'Arcy has died.

Besides her relentless anti-war activism, her book on the women protesting in Armagh Prison, Tell Them Everything, is such an important piece of writing.

She was also key to springing Kate Millett from institutional confinement in Clare in 1980.

Listened to this piece this morning. Worth a listen for those interested in water quality and agricultural policy.
For those of you who missed our meeting on Monday, @elainemcgoff.bsky.social contributes to this segment which outlines the key points of discussion we had on the night. Pat O'Toole from the Farmers Journal even mentions our meeting near the end. A great summary of the key issues and tensions.
Over the 19 years Ireland has had a derogation from the nitrates directive we have backed ourselves in to a corner. Which now leaves us having productive and economically viable farms or cleaner rivers and lakes, but not both.

The Irish Times published and lauded John Collison's op-ed, but did they fact-check it?

Andrew Jackson did. Thoroughly.

If you spent time reading the original, you'd want to give time to this counterpoint as well.

The fight against Bears is not against their claws, teeth, and massive muscular strength…but the blood spilled by unfortunate hikers eaten by them.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said today that the fight against climate change was not against the fuels that cause it — only the pollution they emit.
Von der Leyen says EU is not fighting fossil fuels, only emissions
The comment could undermine European countries’ push at COP30 to move away from coal, oil and gas.

Record breaking prices for artwork sales do not, sadly, represent an investment in art and artists.

Investors are reducing their taxable profits before the end of the tax year with big one-off purchases while universities cut their humanities faculties and artists earn less than minimum wage.
