The new edition of Stars, Specters, and Super-Powers adds one new story and two appendices with extra background material, a comic book page from the story that inspired, "The Man Comes Around," and an RPG adventure.
And the cover is so much better!

Vodka is just rubbing alcohol that hasn't been denatured yet.
There should be harsher penalties for people who say they're talking about The Lord of the Rings when they're really only talking about the movies.
I didn't realize how much I hated Arkansans until I started this convenience store side job in Avoca.
If you see this, post a Frankenstein!
I love how Carpenter (or whatever conglomerate entity wrote the script) drops this perfect little jab at pop culture storytelling into the middle of the movie:

"Cane's writing me. He wants me to kiss you."
"WHY?"
"Because it's good for the book! It's what the readers want."

Graveyards are a waste of resources. People are biodegradable and should be buried naked so they can decompose and feed their sweet, sweet nutrients back to the earth.

Buying me a coffin after I die makes as much sense as buying me a birthday card.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?
I wouldn't say it feels like October, but at least the weather here finally feels like September.

I’m convinced that Gunn is using Peacemaker to present a Captain America-like superhero except, you know, America as it actually is: a psychotically murderous but sorta loveable trailer park goofball plagued by racist family and lineage who has to learn to get along with snarky diverse teammates.
If you didn't enjoy diagramming sentences, I'm not sure why you're even talking to me.
I spent, like, twenty minutes staring at pictures of snarling tigers before I started. Tom described it as "method" (as in the acting school). I hadn't thought of it like that, but yeah. If I can't make myself feel something, how can I make someone else feel it?
While certainly a fierce hunter, I'm afraid Speckle might be too adorable to help me with the scary tiger demon chapter.

Quote with the energy you bring to Bluesky.
Heroes are just monsters you've been given permission to root for.
Chill out everybody! Charlie's fine!
Our dystopian present really is very strange.
"Let a sufferer's curse clasp thee, his torturer, like remorse, till thine infinity shall be a robe of envenomed agony, and thine omnipotence a crown of pain, to cling like burning gold round thy dissolving brain!"

Percy Bysshe Shelley, Prometheus Unbound
The dog? No, he's not an emotional support animal; he's an emotional blackmail animal.
I enjoyed Thunderbolts for the most part. Misfits coming together is something anyone who's ever read anything I wrote knows I'm into. The journey through the painfully on-the-nose "traumaverse" got a little tiresome and felt like a lazy way to illustrate an emotional journey, though.
