Abigail Spanberger is an outstanding candidate and she’s run a solid, policy-oriented campaign.

Virginians have a front row seat to Trump’s madness - Democrats can set the tone for the mid-terms with solid wins here and in New Jersey.
I think these ads will be inspiring for men (and boys) - for too long Hollywood and Madison Avenue have depicted men as extremely violent or buffons. Al Pacino is right, friendship “is the greatest thing you can have.”

So MAGA wouldn’t have a problem with Putin blowing up fishing boats in the Med or the North Sea?
Terrific story, Tim. Given JK’s background - growing up in the Congo, playing for 3 high schools, skipping college - it was going to take time for him to fit into the Warriors’ complex system. I’m glad he and Kerr are singing from the same hymnal.

This is going to be a fun season.

beautiful! an experience they’ll never forget. lucky for everyone temps were in the 80s and not freezing on the east coast or Midwest. That would have been brutal.
Mike Johnson is 2nd in line for the presidency so he must receive frequent intel briefings. He also has staff in both the speaker’s office and his personal office.

Why is he completely unaware of current events?
Q: What's your reaction to yesterday's purge of senior ICE officials? When is it time for Congress to do some oversight?

MIKE JOHNSON: I don't know any of the details of that yet. I just heard about that, literally I was walking in.

It's not officially fall until you watch The Great Pumpkin. 59 years ago today it premiered on CBS.

This is the original promo that everybody saw that year.

I invite all the cold-hearted, selfish Christian Nationalists in the Trump administration and Congress to point to the scripture wherein Jesus told them to withhold from the poor, needy, and hungry so they had more money to give instead to Herod's $300,000,000 golden ballroom. I'll wait.
The “new” Yankee Stadium, Citi Field and the new Bills stadium cost taxpayers hundreds of millions.

I have a lot of respect for so many of thr WashPost reporters and editorial writers I’ve read and worked with over the years.

It’s sad to write this but under Bezos’ ownership, the Post is irrelevant. Like the Redskins were when Dan Snyder owned the team.

-- Nearly half of recruits couldn’t pass an open-book written exam.
-- Recruits "are supposed to attest" they can pass the physical-fitness test, which requires them to run ... 6 mph.

Just another distraction from the Epstein files. Did Donald Trump rape girls?
How is Mike Johnson, second in line for the presidency with a dozen+ comms staffers in his Speaker’s and personal offices, completely unaware of everything?
Q: A pardoned January 6 rioter was charged with threatening to kill Hakeem Jeffries

MIKE JOHNSON: Terrible. That's the first I've heard of that. I don't know anything about it.
Once again, Trump does whatever the hell he wants and Republicans in Congress are silent, fearful Trump will support their opponent and end their lucrative DC lifestyle.

One thing about Trump’s first-term trade war with China: it fundamentally destroyed US soybean exports, as China found other sources — “namely Brazil, which is now the leading exporter.”

“It is unrealistic to think there might be alternative buyers” to replace it.

Among the many amazing/disgraceful things about America 2025 is how completely Republicans in Congress have neutered themselves.
President Trump on Wednesday signed a memorandum expanding his administration’s authority to repurpose unspent federal funds to pay members of the military during the government shutdown, escalating his challenge to the authority of Congress on spending matters.
Trump Signs Memo Expanding His Authority to Spend Federal Money
The president gave Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth wide authority to repurpose funds to pay members of the military without approval from Congress, which has the sole constitutional authority to decide federal spending.
