It's absurd that the IOC would ban one athlete for their helmet but not another, if you're playing "we have rules" then they have to be universally enforced.

Australia was made to wait a longer than they thought they would but a first gold medal of the games this morning makes it two straight Winter Olympics that they've got a gold in, 5 of the last 7. Australia has medaled in every Games since 1994

Four more FIFA men's registration ban: Alfateh and Nosoor Martouba continue Libya's run and Athletic Club in Spain, which I believe is Athletic Bilbao but I've not seen a statement from them. Those three get a three period ban. Guatemalan club Zacapa are given an indefinite ban

CAS has ruled it has no jurisdiction to overrule Rebecca Passler's (Italy, Biathlon) suspension as she didn't appeal to NADO Italia, the Italian anti-doping agency, first. That is all the ruling is, they made no decision on the veracity of the suspension. She can still appeal to NADO Italia.

The most devastating thing for Anthony is that her Final 1 score would have won the Super Final.

Is there TOO much gold in the gold medals and so they're brittle? HOW does this work?
Perrine Laffont wins for strongest medal ribbon!

Just purely financially it makes sense to have kept Ange, you could make the argument that he did something no one seems capable of doing at Spurs, winning a trophy, you can ride that euphoria for a while. It is interesting how now it's not Ange people admit the problems aren't the manager though.
Spurs should've kept Ange not because it would have saved them from being bad but because goodwill from the trophy would have bought them time to rebuild. Now they've paid off two managers instead of one, the problems are still there and fans no longer believe the next coach will fix it
Maybe it's a dramatic headline but I'm right www.thetransferflow.com/p/thomas-fra...

Fascinating that even still the British media blames Ange. Guess he wasn't European enough.
February 11, 2026 at 2:40 PM
That was one of Australia's best medal chances at these games, at least Anthony didn't go to easy. This format is brutal but they all know it going in, and again the defending Olympic champion doesn't defend

Another FIFA Registration ban added, again on the men's side. This time it's Zamora FC of Venezuela handed a three period ban.
February 11, 2026 at 2:27 AM
Fascinating that now that it's a manager more associated as being European getting sacked by Tottenham that all of a sudden it's "years of poor squad building" that caused the problem, and it's not the manager's fault. Interesting.

Raimo Reinsalu, the coach of Lithuanian figure skater Meda Variakojytė has filed an appeal with CAS after the ISU filed an urgent suspension effective immediately after allegations of abuse against him. Should be clear the allegations don't include sexual abuse but he says they're damaging of course

I have no ties to the Baltics except for that one time I went to Estonia, and yet I love this for Latvia. I'm just a big fan of the Baltics, I can't explain it.
No worse than silver for Latvia's Elina Bota!

Two changes of nationality in the FIFA portal today: Mauricio switches from Brazil to Paraguay in an effort to make the World Cup squad. The other is talented Sydney FC youngster Tyra Bagiante who switches from Tonga to Australia with a potential young Matildas call up.
