Air conditioning is an absolutely vital life-saving technology on a swiftly-warming planet, and people who claim it's somehow more shameful to cool a home than it is to heat one are idiots.

I wrote this a few years ago and still stand by it:

Climate Change Demands More Air Conditioning
An often-disparaged technology is a lifesaver, not a luxury.

In one of the most transparently dangerous implementations of AI I've seen this month: AllTrails launched a new tool that allows users to ask an AI to "shorten my route" or "make this more scenic."

Google pushed a mandatory update to 4a phones designed to "improve the stability of your battery's performance," but it wrecked a lot of devices, including mine. A full charge lasts less than 45 mins now.

No real explanation given for why this update was necessary.
