Why "Advisory"? Don't we need something that provides for the implementation of Independence if the majority indicates that's what's wanted - i.e. a YES majority means the process starts. Otherwise we could go round in circles with Referenda after Referenda with no subsequent action!

On the other hand it is almost a given that Starmer would say no to an Ref request even with appropriate support for the SNP - which would be another example to the C-24 that Scotland is denied the right to choose even with a majority. Maybe that's part of John's plan, but I somehow doubt it.

I would tend to agree - especially when you take into account the numbers in other parties who are pro Indy. They are the ones who would vote for Indy in a Ref but wouldn't vote SNP. They need to be persuaded to lend their vote to the SNP if John's plan is to succeed.
