One reason video games need to reject AI is the risk of losing the joy of human touch in small art details. My favorite example is the fake video games from the Toy Story level in Kingdom Hearts 3, designed by real video game artists. You can tell they had fun making these.

A selection of beautiful firemen’s coats from 19th-century Japan. The coats were reversible — one side was plain and the other side (worn on the inside while tackling blazes) was decorated with rich and symbolic imagery: https://publicdomainreview.org/collection/japanese-firemans-coats-19th-century

During World War II, Santa generally had to fly much lower than he does during peacetime, for fear of attracting the attention of aircraft spotters and putting local towns into panic. 1/

Ok, people have asked me for years to compile the Annotated SOTN into a single video, so here it is. Lightly edited and occasionally sped up to get rid of some of the silent moments.

Doing my annual rewatch of (in my opinion) the greatest adaptation of Sherlock Holmes --with the astounding Jeremy Brett. Simply brilliant. With David Burke as Watson in season one; and Edward Hardwicke as Watson for the rest of the series. Who's YOUR favorite #sherlockholmes ?

For episode 50 of the podcast I invited @benitocereno.bsky.social on to discuss the history and lore of St Nicholas. In no small part this was because of the comics that had been posted online 10+ years ago.
I'm thrilled that those comics, and additional fun Santa Claus tales, are now in print!

"RemoveWindowsAI" is a script created by zoicware, available on GitHub, that does exactly what it says: it remove every AI feature in Windows 11. Do what you wish to do with this information. I'm sharing this because some folks are forced to use Win11 at work or other places for any reasons.

She doesn't have any other socials, so if you can post it widely to see if anyone knows where it is. It's a little thing, but matters a lot to her.
