They give you more time with characters and setting you love. Maybe your main plot line is, say, 20 sessions worth of play—but your appetite for time in that world is a lot higher. Side quests can give you that in a satisfying way.

The one-two-three punch of CoC, Paranoia, and Twilight 2000 in the early-mid 80s. Games like Traveller, Gamma World, and Star Frontiers let you basically play D&D in other genres, but those games opened up new vistas of what a game could be about and what experiences it could give you.

Russia has been losing tanks at a rate of about 3 a day throughout 2025. They’ve been able to keep this up because of an enormous stockpile of retired hulls. Looks like that stockpile is starting to run out at last.

‼️According to calculations made by OSINT researchers, the amount of Russian tanks in decent condition remaining in storage is ZERO.

◾️1656 are in "poor" condition (about 60% of them probably cannot be restored).
◾️1231 Russian tanks are in "worse" condition, according to the researchers.

Over 30% of casualties are KIA. Throw in MIA (which are likely KIA), and it’s around 40%. That’s for 2025, but if it extrapolates to the whole war, that puts Russian dead at around 450K. That’s more than all US dead in WWII.

The Ukrainian project I_Want_To_Live has published a photo of a document with Russian losses over 8 months, from January to September 2025. According to it, total KIA numbers 86,744, roughly 10,843 per month, which is very close to our earlier estimates. Total losses are 281,550
