Off/on works so often because it resets the computer state back to what it should be. Most often the problem is user created, and they just don't know it.

Went to the grocery store today. Canadian produce? Sold out. American? Sitting on the shelves rotting.

Not much of a loss, it's mostly second-rate anyways. I think as more countries start to fill the void, more people will understand how watered down, flavourless and basic 🇺🇸 crops are.

All of the Israelis held by Hamas are called “hostages,” including the IDF soliders.

All the Palestinians released, though, are “prisoners,” including the many victims of Israel’s widespread arbitrary detention - meaning they are legally innocent, detained without charge or conviction.

The NYT, Atlantic, WaPo, CNN, Guardian and others have all refused to sign Pete Hegseth new rules on reporting from the Pentagon. As far as I can tell only OAN has signed it. I guess this is Hegseth waving goodbye to their access to the Pentagon and other DOD facilities.

My favorite aspect of the Columbus legend is him getting rejected by the Portuguese gets spun as them not recognizing the genius of his idea. No - he went into a roomful of expert navigators and made basic math mistakes, they thought he was a moron, and they wouldn't fund his idea on that basis.

The trailblazing transgender rights activist Miss Major has passed away at the age of 78.

Miss Major was a lifelong organizer and participant in the ballroom scene. She took part in the 1969 Stonewall Riots and was injured by the police — but she kept fighting.
