When I got sick, my people showed up.

So many signed up for our Meal Train — many providing multiple meals for us throughout the course of my treatments.

I also asked for volunteers to go on walks with me, to keep me both active and connected. A number of people chose that one.

Politicians wishing everyone a happy Labor Day should be prepared to explain their records on labor and whether they’ve championed or obstructed policies to improve the lives of workers.

These things often dawn on you slowly.

At first, on Wednesday morning, I saw an alert come through on Nextdoor, about an active shooter situation nearby.

Odd. Unusual.

False alarm?

Sometimes those happen.

Surely that was it.

Yeah, this would be lauded as strong, tough leadership if it was for a white constituency. I also think it elides a lot of actual stuff that leadership screwed up (especially responding to Republican stall tactics from the chair) in the final days.
The 2023 Fateh rideshare episode remains one of the issues that rarely features actual drivers in its reporting -- like it exists solely as political narrative

If it were about a Range DFLer/mining labor, I wonder how it'd be presented and whose voices we'd hear from
Fateh threatened to block 2023 budget votes over Uber/Lyft driver protections, email shows
When asked at the time, the senator did not publicly admit to leveraging his votes.

Friends, this series of images is drawn from a piece in our Substack publication called "Our Fragile, Fragile World."

You can follow the link here to find it, if you'd like to read the whole thing. Please do!

As someone who was there as a delegate, and who is weary of all the ridiculous posturing by certain factions of Minneapolis politics since then... I find this illuminating and super-helpful.
I’ve seen a lot of false information circulating in the weeks following the Minneapolis DFL convention. Some of it feels like reading Jan 6 voter conspiracy theories, so as the person who stepped in as head teller + audited the voting system, I’d like to set the record straight🧵
I never thought I'd actually wade into the perennial What-Is-Uptown debate that roiled #MplsTwitter forever and now has migrated to #MplsBlueSky and beyond. But alas. Drawing my own interactive map drew me in. Pun intended.

Here's what I say! www.startribune.com/where-is-upt...
Draw your own map of Uptown to help settle the neighborhood’s boundaries
Tell us where your Uptown begins and ends: Lake and Lyndale? West of Bde Maka Ska?

BREAKING: Today the Minnesota Supreme Court ruled to deny attempts by Energy Transfer, the oil giant behind the Dakota Access Pipeline, to force Unicorn Riot to turn over internal documents from our reporting on the historic, Indigenous-led #NoDAPL movement:

I read it last year and wished I'd read it sooner.
My book HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT was published in 2020. It has the Trump/Epstein court files in it and a history of their joint transnational mafia ties. For five years, I have heard from former Trump voters who said this book -- specifically the Epstein documents -- changed their minds about him.

Friends, we don’t need to do more.

So many of us are stuck in a feedback loop, one where we constantly feel like we are not-enough… so we feel like we need to do more… in order to be enough… or at least acceptable… or even just OK.

Our entire foundation is thus insecure.

MN Strib reports today that although federal funding is only 6 percent of Minnesota Public Radio’s budget, it is 25-40 percent of rural public radio budgets in Grand Rapids, Grand Marais, Bemidji, elsewhere.
just a reminder that if you at all value your local public radio or broadcasting network, it is a fantastic time to become a member

We are still not OK, here in Minnesota. And we here at For the Love of Humanity are resolute in this truth: our politics cannot be violent. Even more, we believe our politics should be centered on care for each other.

It's dangerously hot and @supplydepotmpls.bsky.social is out there doing great work in Minneapolis. If you can spare a few dollars to help them out, or want to plug in another way, their Linktree is in their bio!
Second @supplydepotmpls.bsky.social carload was able to take six cases of ice cold Gatorade, freezer pops, and cooling towels. Between these two carloads we estimate we reached more than 200 unhoused neighbors today.
The first carload of today’s Gatorade distro for @supplydepotmpls.bsky.social just headed out to hand our ice cold Gatorade, cooling towels, sunscreen, and more.

They’ll be meeting up with one of our meal distro partners so unhoused neighbors will be able to access meals and water at the same time.

I still can't get past the idea that people in America are now supposed to accept that this is a valid form of law enforcement and just assume it's fine when random dudes in groups with face-coverings, no ID, no warrant, & no uniform grab people off the street and force them into unmarked vehicles
Not an original point but worth saying again - there is not a single element in this picture that identifies any of these folks as law enforcement agents. No badges, no uniforms, no vests. Out of context it just looks like a bunch of random guys are kidnapping a mayoral candidate.
