We are going to war with Venezuela over drug trafficking.
Cocaine originates in Bolivia, Columbia and Peru and is largely trafficked over the Mexican border. Fentanyl is manufactured in Mexico, China and to some extent India and trafficked over the Mexican border.

We are the shithole nation.

This.

"Regardless of what you think about any individual person, food assistance should not be predicated on meeting your personal definition of deserving. People shouldn’t have to perform feats of social worth to get food; in our incredibly wealthy society, people should just get food."

Oh, by the way, I wrote in @thenation.com about how Trump is condeming millions of Americans to hunger this Thanksigiving with his accelarated timeline of adding work requirements for SNAP benefits.
I also discussed how work requirements provably don't work, for the neoliberals in your life.
Trump Has Just Condemned More Americans to Hunger
The administration’s decision to fast-track a bunch of changes to food stamps—including new work requirements—is as stupid as it is cruel.

The Supreme Court’s majority right wing indicated in oral arguments that they think racism is over on the same day that the vice president defended the “I love Hitler” guy, and that the NYT reported that the current administration plans to accept only white, English-speaking refugees.

Something else that has never happened before in American history, as the Trump admin continues to piss on the Bill of Rights while Republicans in Congress continue to remain silent. Another thing to protest on Saturday.

Supposedly the additional $20M is being raised privately and not thru tax $. Per Bessent in that interview (I'm not sure why people are misrepresenting this point.)

However, I'll believe it when I see it (my bet is it will be deeply hidden in transfers of taxpayer $ impossible to trace).

Also a reminder these weren’t “Kids”! Some of these “Young Republicans,” which includes ages up to 40, were elected officials or government appointees.

I'm not watching it but I checked the scores for a certain match.

Taylor Fritz, thank you for continuing to get an "A" for the assignment. We all genuinely appreciate your work in this area.

Great advice for anyone who cannot attend a peaceful rally on Saturday. #NoKings #DumpTrump
cozybooksonly.bsky.social
If you can't attend:
1. Donate to a local election candidate
2. Vote early in NJ, CA, PA, VA, WA, and return your ballots
3. Remind a friend to vote
4. Call your reps
5. Offer to babysit for friends to attend
6. Drive by one and HONK
7. Share on SM event info
8. Help put up event flyers

So the person desperate for the Nobel Peace Prize might start a war with Venezuela.

Perfect.

Dear folks running for office in 2026:

Perhaps you should not send fundraising texts to those of us in states with big elections THIS November. Like Governor?

Actually, I take that first part back. There was the one person who did not accept the Jan 6 pardons from DJT.

So I am not sure how it works.

I do know that DJT will believe that any prosecution of his people would be vindictive + not deserved so would pre-emptively pardon.
cdh111.bsky.social
No, it doesn't. I'm not sure that it is "accepted." Adam Kinzinger says he didn't want one, but has it regardless.

The pre-emptive ones Biden issued were wise given the weaponization of the DoJ.

If DJT does it, it'd be at the behest of others because he'll never think what they did "criminal."
cdh111.bsky.social
Or he'll put up a bigger fight this time. Unless he dies in office. But Vance will probably issue the pardons then.
cdh111.bsky.social
Other question is how many will be pre-emptively pardoned by DJT the day he leaves office. I suspect almost all (if not all) will just so they evade prosecution.

The secret power of a people’s movement is that it’s random.

It’s neighbors protecting immigrants from ICE. It’s millions canceling Disney+. It’s a man throwing a sandwich. It’s inflatable frogs dancing.

Dictators struggle to fight a movement, because they can’t do what they want most—control us.
