Since BlueSky is seeing a surge of activity, I'm also going to try and post here more often. I mostly repost things, but I do have some (for lack of a better term) creative projects I work on in my free time.

One is an OC fantasy world, Calcânt, Here is an old WIP.
A Mollweide projected map of a fictional world consisting primarily of two supercontinent groups. These supercontinents run from the north to south poles, one in the east and west hemispheres. They range in color from deep green to sandy yellow to dirty brown depending on climate. There are also two, arguably three archipelagoes that also run in a general north-south direction.

here's another thought experiment I think about a lot when it comes to abortion. This one I made up myself, or at least I think I did, and ChatGPT seems to agree with me. Imagine you meet a single mother struggling to raise a 2-year-old alone-her dreams of medical school crushed and unlikely to be fulfilled, her dating life filled with an endless series of men who back away from raising someone else's child, her nights a frequent battle with loneliness and toddler tantrums. You see that she is breaking under the strain, and just as you are thinking how sad it is, someone hands you a button. If you push that button, the toddler will be erased. The child will feel no pain, but will simply vanish, and no one, not even you, will remember that he ever existed. The woman will blink and find herself in med school, dating a charming and kind fellow student with great potential as a husband and father. Do you push the button? (Megan McCardle)

I tried two software resets while driving just to get GPS back. Nothing worked. So there I was, manually driving in terrible conditions, unsure of positioning, no assistance, no guidance. And it genuinely felt unsafe. For me and for the people in the car. Then it hit me. This feeling - the stress, the uncertainty, the margin for error - this is how most drivers feel every single day. No FSD. No constant awareness. No backup. We've normalised danger so much that we only notice it when the safety net disappears. Chris Robovan @chrisrobovan • 1d So true.
