“The phenomenon is known as induced demand. The result is an endless cycle in which congestion leads to highway expansion, which invites more trips, which brings back traffic…The pattern is so inevitable that economists have dubbed it the iron law of congestion.” #InducedTraffic

Crooks or separatists?
Quebecers who refuse to support separatist parties have literally zero alternatives.
Will his replacement manage to turn things around before the next election?
Wow.

Tragic consequences for an anti-vax trucker convoy attendee who wanted no medical personnel at her home birth, not even a midwife. When she belatedly went to hospital & Dr told her the baby was dead, she went to a different hospital for a second opinion. (Gift link)

For those who complain about too many rules at school, this is the new recommendation by the association that insures Quebec School Boards re: snow hills in the schoolyard. When are teachers supposed to find the time to teach? Because rest assured that this will be added to their workload.

"American history offers a warning about moments like this. The United States has endured demagogues before. What ultimately undermined them was not policy failure or legal sanction, but the public recognition of cruelty as a governing principle rather than an aberration."

This is horrible news.
My god, ABC is now reporting that police initially began a death investigation at the home of Rob Reiner, and it has now developed into a murder case.

Heartbreaking. Absolutely heartbreaking.

🇨🇦Canadians🇨🇦 If you want to keep your universal healthcare, don’t vote for Conservative candidates, federally or provincially. Personally, I would like the Feds to do something to rein in what’s happening in Ont, QC and Alta re: trying to privatize everything that they can.
If folks are complaining about the cost of living now, wait til their insurance premiums skyrocket. Last week, my employer-connected insurance, FloridaBlue, which I pay $1500 for every month, just denied a doctor-prescribed medicine that I have been using for 20 years! WTAF. It's a level 1 generic!

This is news to me - what an amazing Canadian heroine! Please read her story.

“Palmer was the last person to be prosecuted for advertising birth control in Canada. Three decades later in 1969, birth control was legalized in Canada.”
Dorothea Palmer said "A woman should be the master of her own body."
She worked to promote birth control in Canada. She was arrested, charged and put on trial.
Her trial, the Eastview Birth Control Trial, became a landmark case in Canada.
This is her story.

Oh just shut up, Rosemary. If he hadn’t gone to the Christmas party the day before, he probably would have been roughed up/intimidated by the Conservative Whip and Scheer.

CHAMPAGNE: What matters at the end of the day is that he made the choice to join the Liberal Party and the government.
