So, El Fasher looks like one of the worst single event atrocities to happen this century so far, but the evidence has come in such a trickle it seems to only now be getting verified
At least 60,000 murdered in Sudanese city, which resembles ‘a slaughterhouse’
Satellite evidence shows extent of paramilitary massacre in El Fasher

A decade ago trans people warned this would happen.

The “gender-critical” transphobes have opened the door to a much wider attack on women’s rights, including on safe and legal abortion, birth control…

I even managed to get this published in @opendemocracy.net in 2022

Fucking incredible dystopian shit, comparing super rich people risking millions if not billions of lives just to make more money to people that risked their life actually building incredible things that would then make millions of dollars for super rich people.

Can we stop using the euphemism “women’s rights activist” for ardent transphobe?
Lib Dems announce 5 peers including ex-MP Sarah Teather, Tories announce 3 including Olympic swimmer/ women's rights activist Sharon Davies, historian Simon Heffer and former cabinet minister John Redwood. Reform UK don't get any.

Importantly, this wouldn't have passed without Dem support. There was enough of a split within Republican ranks that if Dems had voted against the bill it would've been doa. Giving Trump a blank check to warmonger *and* passing an anti-trans measure was a choice.
115 Democrats just voted to codify the first federal trans segregation law.

Demanding the alteration of a treaty that you yourself are not a party to is uhhhh… let’s call it bold
Trump's hunt on the ICC is all about impunity for himself, his administration, and US clients. US threatens to sanction more officials and the Court itself, unless it revokes the warrants and stops investigations. The Statute must be amended, too—or else.

oh good, a fresh test of how much longer so-called capitalists will throw cash into an incinerator because it happens to be run by a drug-addled racist with an allergy to profitable operations
An IPO of $30 billion-plus for SpaceX would be a fresh test of just how much an appetite stock investors have for backing Elon Musk.

Company could be valued at $1.5 trillion in 2026 stock offering.

One of the many problems of the Netherlands is that the weather only allows you to wear suede boots 3 days out of the year, meaning it doesn’t really make sense to own them.

This is a problem bc suede boots are gorge

You can't justify cutting rights as an argument for stopping the far right
It's repeatedly shown that pandering to them only emboldens them.

Of course it gets sold as freeing businesses from constraints. This is horseshit. It's the exact opposite: it rewards reverting to old, unsustainable models, and punishing those who invest in innovation. It's stagnation at the behest of old capital.

By the way - even if you are concerned with economic opportunities of European businesses, this kind of deregulation does not help whatsoever. Business don't change, it only results in a marginal value increase primarily benefiting shareholders. It's a naked gift to capital.
