Lots of his iconic poster art is going around today, so I’m sharing a deeper cut - the poster art that he created as a prop for The Mist, depicting a theoretical Dark Tower film.

This is wild. I really didn’t expect this to ever happen, but it could be amazing. Missing out on seeing them live with Neil is one of my biggest concert regrets.

And here's book #10 - Hammers On Bone was really heavy on the creepy noir vibes but I think it caught me at the wrong time; couldn't quite get on its wavelength.

Finished book #8 for the year: Billy Summers was another win for recent Stephen King. This felt like a bit of a departure with some surprising twists, and it worked really well for me.

If you say 'heteronormative' or 'unhoused person' or 'food insecurity' you're basically talking gibberish and nobody can understand you but if you say you can see inflammation in children at the airport and that vaccines lower IQ or that germs are a myth you get to fire all the scientists.

As someone who has listened to more Staind than is socially acceptable to admit, I can believe that Lewis’s grasp of lyrical subtext is pretty nonexistent. Ironically a lot of Staind songs get at broadly similar personal issues but with all the subtlety of a brick and none of the social context.

Book #7 for 2025: Gardens Of The Moon by Steven Erikson. I had a good time with this, mostly, though it doesn't quite sidestep all the pitfalls of epic fantasy series-starters.

Alien: Earth is pretty great so far. Loving the new directions and themes in the storytelling while totally nailing the aesthetic of the classic movies. Some killer needle drops too.
