Hi! Are you on Medicaid and were you essentially turned away from the ER by being told that it isn't clear that you care would be covered due to Medicaid portal issues? Email me at [email protected]

Attention #Medsky! The Latino Medical Student Association is circulating a petition to call on professional medical organizations to stand up to ICE re: rescinding their “Protected Areas” policy.

This needs a massive signal boost. Let’s #STANDUPTOICE and get as many signatures on here as possible.

Genuinely insane that a major newsroom isn't running a live post today trying to verify what is and what isn't being impacted by the federal funding freeze. Embarrassing how bad the media response is to this.
Based on the frantic questions I've googled recently — "how do executive orders works," "can gay marriage be repealed," "what is the Office of Personnel Management," "do food stamps still work," — only to find nothing from media outlets, I'm ready to say the mainstream media is in serious trouble.

I have been out with covid for nearly a month. The way I finally got covid the first time is an awful story I'll share later on. Sorry for not being too active. :( It is just as bad as I thought it would be for me.

Hey #NEISvoid pals!

Anyone in the #Seattle area have the name of a doctor who’s knowledgeable about the EDS/POTS/MCAS trifecta, or open to referrals to drs who are?

I have a friend who’s struggling to find informed care.

Reskeets helpful, thank you!

When you go to an open mic night, you realize the point of art is not really to be a fancy person whose name everybody knows. Amateur singers & poets with day jobs deliver the most stirring & moving pieces. Their names may never be known & they may not care, the point was to share for someone.

Like am I not allowed to travel ever? Am I just supposed to be able to go (45 minutes from my home, I might add) whenever? People around me can’t drop everything to drive me. I’m so over the US’ puritanical drive to punish illness.

Intro post 🗣️

Hello! I’m Tia. I’m a 1st gen scholar with a PhD in psych. Trained as a behavioral neuroscientist, I broadly studied hippocampal dependent spatial navigation (how do we get from one place to the next?). My lab days are behind me but you can find me writing about cool science.

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. Each year, the trans community loses too many lives, especially trans women of color, to hate and violence.

More than ever, we must stand by our trans family and support them, hold space for them, and insist the scapegoating and targeting stop.

Now.

Something about Twitter that was so powerful was how somebody could talk about an experience being disabled and so many people around the world could respond saying OMG I am experiencing that!

For a community so isolated, it was such a validating thing and I'm beginning to see it happen here.

🥺🥺🥺 I feel so loved. I walked in and got handed a heartfelt card congratulating me on my defense and thanking me for my summer workshops, plus a little treat. University of Arizona neuro undergraduates are the sweetest. This gives me that lil boost I need to power through these revisions. 💪
