I actually thought he was reasonable today!

And that's because a wealth tax is obvious. Unless you're defending the super rich.

It's shameful Labour are refusing.

The 50 wealthiest families own more wealth than the bottom 50% of the population.

How can this Labour Government say this is a "cost of living" budget and refuse to tax the rich?

They care about protecting power and wealth. And cost of living is a buzz phrase for them. Dire.

Look at Redwood - a shell of a human being - trying to push his fossil fuel interests. He has been at the heart of the systematic erosion of investment in British communities and public services - he's a wrongun through and through.
@zackpolanski.bsky.social wants to introduce a wealth tax of 1% on assets of over £10m & 2% on assets over £1bn & if the super rich want to leave the UK because they are being taxed a tiny amount more then we should wave them goodbye

Thatcherite John Redwood says 1% isn't a tiny amount.

It's incredibly sad that his has been the only consistent parliamentary voice calling out Israel's genocide against the people of Palestine. Criticise him all you want but he is 💯 correct on this.
Why does this government find it so hard to tell Israel: you’re wrong, what you’re doing is illegal, and we are not going to let you get away with genocide.

Trial by jury is a cornerstone of our democracy and an essential safeguard against authoritarianism.

It is truly frightening that such a fundamental freedom is now under attack.

Once rights are lost, they are not easy to win back. We must resist this with all we’ve got.

Debate today with a Labour MP on the economy.

Also with a former advisor to George Osborne.

Very striking how much Labour & the Tories agree on our economic system.

Time for change. Let's make hope normal again. Enjoy! 🙌🏼👇🏼

Two children have been killed every day in Gaza since the so-called ceasefire began.

Why has this disappeared from the headlines?

The genocide never ended — and our government is still complicit.

End all arms sales to Israel, now.

Given that 20 Palestinians are being killed on average every day by Israelis in Gaza (37 on Wednesday), it seemed a little premature for the UN Security Council to give its approval to Trump’s real estate grab / ethnic cleansing plan for the Strip.

Whilst I agree that "you can't fix that in one month, in one budget, or in one year", there's no excuse to continue the same fallacious rhetoric around the 'household budget' economy, immigration, austerity, Brexit, etc.

The messaging and mood music of this Labour government has been appalling.
Busines and Trade Secretary, Peter Kyle: "When you win an election... you start off where the other lot left off, and the extent of challenges that Brexit left us, that some of the other periods of intense instability left us... you can't fix that in one month, in one budget, or in one year." ~AA

If they could simultaneously also be unemployed for 12 months, stuck on the housing rental merry go round for 5 years and also prevented from using private dental care that would probably help.

Maybe force every politician to work full time in a frontline retail job for 12 months too.
