FYI. Horst Wessel was a member of the paramilitary wing of the Nazi Party, who became a propaganda symbol in Nazi Germany following his murder in 1930 by two members of the Communist Party of Germany. Joseph Goebbels elevated him into a martyr for the Nazi Party.

In some places, you need your passport to prove citizenship so that you can vote. Revoke passports for people who speak against the Empire and voila, they're disenfranchised.

Just finished Dan McClellan's excellent book "The Bible Says So" and ready to start on John Fugelsang's new book "Separation of Church and Hate".

The books have a common theme: Many people who call themselves Christians are running around saying the Bible says this and that when it just ain't so.

The Scopes Monkey Trial began 100 years ago today. So I guess I'll re-watch this classic film, which is itself 65 years old.

I've come to appreciate actor Fredric March. He humanizes Matthew Harrison Brady. Brady's still a jackass, but he's not a cartoon villain.

Ted Cruz says there is a time to have political fights, but now is not that time. It's never that time. How are we doing on guns? Since there hasn't been a mass shooting today, maybe now is a good time to talk about it. Because when there is a mass shooting, that's a bad time to discuss.
