University administration:
"We need you to complete 26 hours of lab safety training 🧪 each year so that everyone is safe and responsible."

Also university administration:
Stolen from the Internet, a sign that says "If Elevator does not move do a small jump it should move after", and a dirty-white freight elevator wall and aged elevator controls with only floors 1 and 2."

I have no idea where this really is, I just stole it off Wikimedia.

Agreed. If you’re engaged in public speaking, you want your audience engaged with *you*, not ignoring you while reading your slides.

probably my most deeply-held belief: it is not possible for a slide deck to be both (1) a good presentation aide; and (2) a standalone document that can be read and understood in isolation.

So Jurassic Park is about a group of rich people who don't understand that biology is far more complicated than "there are only two genders" and how this ignorance toward gender fluidity in nature causes these rich people to lose their money and die.

You gently run your hand through the rack. You can feel it—pure cotton, rich wool, Irish linen. The plump buttonholes are handsewn; the buttons attached with a firm shank. You flip the price tag over. It's affordable

You buy the jacket and go home, which is only 15 mins away. Your apt is $600/month

when i moved from MA to OH three years ago after coming out, part of my calculus was knowing deep down that nowhere would be safe, and that I could not count on institutions to stand for me against the federal govt. Sad to see this proved correct

One cool thing about advocating for diversity in health sciences is that you can actually live longer and have better quality of life (and suffer less) simply by telling racists they suck and their opinions are not valid

Just because the Ministry of Truth tells you something doesn't mean it's true. In fact, I would strongly doubt EVERYTHING said given their tenuous relationship with the truth in every previous instance

They lie about everything

Why would this be true?

NEW: Pentagon officials are forcing staff to watch Pete Hegseth's "Warrior" speech he forced generals to listen to.

Officials are even "testing" staff to see if they watched — and are threatening consequences if they lie about watching it or if they mock it, sources tell @swin24.bsky.social and I.
The Pentagon Is Ordering Staff to Watch Hegseth’s ‘MAGA Garbage’ Speech… Or Else
Defense Department sources tell Zeteo that staff have been warned that if they don’t watch or read the speech, or if they speak negatively of it, they could face severe consequences.
