Too many people view reading as “something you do” rather than “a skill that can be developed.”

If you want to get better at kicking a football, you have to kick a lot of footballs. If you want to get better at reading, you have to read a lot of books.

the kids who looked at me and were surprised when i waved and said hello, and then smiled at back at me sooo big bc i did; a box full of treats from brunch supply; the two stray cats i saw + two window cats; yapping with my older neighbor when i turned down my alley 🥺

a black and white stray cat in Baltimore that i tried to “pspsppsps” bc i wanted to pet them but no luck 😭😭

sunday runs are hard sometimes bc why tf am i getting out of bed at 7am but then i get to the park and everything is so vivid and alive and my blood and heart start pumping and i can never remember why it was so hard to get out of bed to begin with???

If all the left needed was policy that improves people lives, they’d win every time. What keeps them from that isn’t a lack of good ideas or evidence of good outcomes from those ideas. The biggest obstacle is the societal push to ignore what the lack of soft skills in everyday people leads to.
