Also the fact that you are on the verge of homelessness is a *huge* factor for fasttracking your case. If you didn't, go for SSDI *and* SSI because they have different qualifications and you might fight both categories. I did.

It's been a few years, but when I finally managed to get my SSDI approved, it wasn't by luck when filing on my own. I had a SOAR qualified caseworker who knew what to look for and help me along. It was not *quick* but a lot faster than I expected, and helped a lot.
