The earliest work on The Escapist, back when it was still called "Escapist Magazine", is thankfully well-archived (albeit less accessible), but it's a stark, bleak contrast between the virtual competitor to Edge Magazine of 2005 and the gambling slop of post-2023.

I've always wanted a helicopter, but with this kind of money? I am building the Prop Cycle from the game Prop Cycle and buying enough land to re-create the courses from it in real life. If I die flying a bicycle into a giant balloon for points, so be it, worth it.

Railjack enemies have much higher health and armor than base enemies, and thus they also scale harder too. The railjack prefixes like Kosma/Gyre/Exo indicate they've got a whole different set of base stats, and those are upwards of 10x higher.

there's a world of difference between a mum sneaking out nappies in the bottom of a pram, an old boy trying to walk out with a bottle of whiskey down his trousers, and someone walking out with an entire shopping trolley of premium beef. Survival always comes first but some of it is just dickery
