Welcome new followers!

Some of you don't necessarily know the whole story of *why* I care so much about the rise of the far right, about countering terrorism, and about building peaceful and thriving societies.

This video is a pretty good intro.

One of the craziest stories I've seen in a long time. If you think Trump and his administration are extreme and depraved, just wait until you learn about the young guns who are positioning themselves to take over the reigns in the next few decades

💡 This conversation is a chance to rethink technology, governance, and culture at its roots. A timely, vital conversation you cannot afford to miss.

It will bring together leaders from technology, civil society, research, and grassroots advocacy to ask: what must change in technology, design, governance, and education to safeguard the next generation?

This session will interrogate these dynamics and discuss innovative, cross-sector solutions that can disrupt abuse, strengthen resilience, and redesign digital spaces.

Digital spaces shape how we live, learn and connect but they have also become breeding grounds for technology-facilitated abuse. From deepfake exploitation and coordinated harassment to algorithm-driven radicalisation, digital misogyny is evolving faster than our systems of protection.

We are excited to join friends and partners, and we are proud to be a part of the session “Innovation Against Hate” during the Oslo Innovation Week next week in our beautiful hometown.

Been trying to deal with bureaucracy this morning and am seriously wondering why digitalisation has led to everything that should be simple requiring the completion of 12 forms, requesting further information, waiting for 5 working days for a response, then jumping through a hoop while juggling fire

That does sound like how things in Northern Europe works...the expectation that knowledge somehow just exists in the population through osmosis or something is driving me insane

When France’s Fifth Republic was created, the main priority was establishing political stability.

Now, with a beleaguered Emmanuel Macron overseeing the resignation of a PM after just 26 days in office, France looks anything but stable.
What’s really wrong with French politics
Beyond Emmanuel Macron’s political problems, a hyper-presidential system of government is to blame for the unfolding catastrophe.

They really should specify formatting and font, spacing, if it's double sided, if it's A4 or some weird American page format, if they want to do pages...character count can get around the long-word-language issue but not i.e. Kanji, so different specs might also be needed for different languages...

I'm questioning my life choices. First thing I did this morning was open an email from Språkrådet and tumble down a Nynorsk rabbithole. It's been an hour and my head hurts.

If you're not aware, because most people I follow and follow me aren't Norwegian, Nynorsk is New Norwegian and not as 1/

🧵on the Nobel Peace Prize

The Nobel Peace Prize is always (and should probably always be) controversial. I’ve worked with laureates, all controversial. This year’s winner is no exception.

Part of the challenge of the Peace Prize is the huge gap between what it is and what people think it should be.
