The Orioles just need to get two SP of 3+ WAR and they’d be a top 5 fWAR team per projections.

The Orioles are making moves!

Here’s my write up on a move I think would be great if they have the courage wade out into the deep end of free agency with the big boys

Could Tatsuya Imai be “The Guy” for the Orioles
Last offseason one of the Orioles biggest signings was longtime Yomiuri Giants star Tomoyuki Sugano. Sugano’s career as an Oriole got off to a good start and honestly if you did a blame pie for the…

Go get a good lefty to set up or match up with Kittredge in the 8th and then the pen looks pretty solid.

Helsley was my 2nd choice behind Devin Williams.

This is a great signing at 2/28 with opt-out.

Hell yes. Helsley was one of my top reliever targets. Big rebound year coming IMO.

Really enjoying seeing the Orioles use their 3% increase in tire kicking.

This year's more expensive, more underwhelming product is going to be SO EXCITING!

The Blue Jays got our no. 1 free agent starting pitcher, which is great for them. But also that ranking doesn't tell the whole story about Cease, and ooooooo $210 million (even with deferrals) is a lot of money
Blue Jays Render Unto Cease What Is Cease’s: $210 Million
Cease is the realistic worst-case scenario for a pitcher who’s the best in the world at the two most important things a pitcher needs to do.

On Dylan Cease's dollars -- if you assume 4.0 WAR next year, declining by 0.5 WAR a year going forward, $10M/win right now and a 10% growth of $$/WAR going forward, you get 7 years and $210M.

That's an effective $40M for 2026, down to $15M for the last year.

(Ignoring time value of money.)
