My daughter designed Halloween mittens and yesterday I made a lot of progress knitting them. Using the Pacific knit co Doodle patterns. They're really fun. #knitting 🧶

Not only are these data centres devouring energy & water – and feeding the AI bubble that'll blow up our economy when it bursts – they're also wasting vast construction resources (human, materials & admin) that could instead be building homes, solar farms, wind farms etc.

Ah just seen a friend share one if those AI cute baby animal videos for the first time. It's bad in many ways but the erosion of truth so nature is just cute and portrayed as we want it to be is going to be very damaging. People seem to prefer the cute quick content than real messy nature.

Finished these socks recently but finally got around to grafting the toe today. The pattern is one I've mostly memorized and the yarn is from wollmeise. I got it in London about 15 years ago. #knitting 🧶

Medical research will find better ways of treating symptoms of mental ill-health but only changes in social organisation will change the circumstances of those who experience it. Mental ill-health, distress and trauma will exist even in 'perfect' worlds. Utopia won't erase us #worldmentalhealthday

Found a really nice Crag Hoppers winter coat in the charity shop today. New with tags and gift receipt in the pocket. €20 usually sells for about €70. Delighted with that.
