On the one hand I appreciate when people are upfront about their source so I can weigh the statement accordingly, but I also want to bang my head against a wall whenever I hear, "According to ChatGPT...", *especially* at work.
I agree with you that we tend to be more motivated to write in complaints, so I've tried to make an effort to also write in about positive things. At the very least, I hope it brightens someone's day (and longer term, hopefully encourages them to keep doing what they're doing!)
I've written to the city transportation staff with praise for new bike lane projects and have gotten some lovely messages back. Also have written to construction or delivery companies when I see them do a good job detouring bikes and have also gotten positive messages back!

Just as a general piece of advice, it's a good idea to let your town and city officials know when you approve of something they do. It will encourage them to do more things like that in the future, and it's also just nice because they get hit with a lot of negativity.
If you like this change to the street, please let Brooklyn CB6 know by emailing [email protected]

I'm on the board and we're already getting some cranky emails. The folks who are using this and benefit from it don't know they have to stand up for good things, so help us stand up for good things.

Happy October, Cambridge! Early voting begins in 24 days...
If my dentist is reading this, I definitely always floss every night 👀
You do start to develop a sixth sense over time... Always listen to your gut (except maybe if you're attempting to grocery shop on a empty stomach )

I still think it's fun! Won't think too hard about it 😉

Rascal and I e-bike in all kinds of weather! I go to work and he goes to daycare.
😆 I didn't think about that but now I can't unsee it. Longfellow Bridge would have been iconic!
Dental floss was also successfully obtained, and it was not locked up! I have my 6 month cleaning coming up...
FYI at least when I went a week ago, the second floor magnet rack had many more options, including this specific one, compared to the first floor rack.
Once I realized the train car moved, I couldn't resist!
On the topic of magnets, this 'Out of Service" MBTA bus magnet was a bit too on the nose (this was spotted in the Porter Sq Bookstore)
Walked into CVS to buy dental floss, walked out with a Red line fridge magnet, as one does.

Cambridge Bicycle Safety is proud to announce our 2025 Cambridge City Council candidate endorsements. We’ve endorsed 12 candidates, all of whom have committed to our number one priority: completing the city’s network of separated bike lanes on schedule by November 2026.
I got a classic Brompton with my first real paycheck after finishing grad school. Now I'm coveting their electric version...😅

There’s an election this fall near you. Have you identified *one* candidate that you will be supporting and doing a little volunteering for to keep politics where you live sane in the face of federal fascism?
Re-discovered this great demonstration of NYC's bendy flex posts while cleaning up my downloads folder, and thought it was timely share given the recent primaries!

(In contrast, Cambridge's flex posts are usually rigid)

School streets is another one of those things where a bunch of neighborhoods will be virulently against it until they see it working in a lot of other neighborhoods and start complaining, "Why do those neighborhoods always get the good stuff?" This is exactly what happened with Citi Bike!
