The EGM documentary reminded me of this unknown Bimini Run code that had no info on it on the internet
So, I looked into the code of the game and determined that it was holding A+B+C and LEFT while pointing to the demo section in the options screen, so I did eventually figure it out.

In Ninja Gaiden 4 just after the challenge shrine there is a "point of no return" where you cannot go back to the shrine and there is no upgrade spot near it before that, which can make that shrine especially challenging.
By doing this technique, it can be made much easier by returning later.
