SCOOP: SpaceX's company town Starbase has started up its own volunteer fire department.

It's the latest way SpaceX and Starbase are exerting control over the corner of Texas they occupy.

Also, Starbase has hired its own fire marshal service for inspections/permits.

It's not even about distracted driving when it's sub-5mph. They simply don't know enough about the basic characteristics of their 3+ ton vehicle to do the simplest things with it efficiently.

- see/know where the corners of their car were when pulling into the travel lane from a parking space, making them have to do 3/4/5/6 point turns to get going
- know how to pull their car into a parking space the first time with out having to line up again
because the number was 100% of them.

I spent about 10 minutes circulating in a parking lot last week in my Spark (wife needed something from the store and the baby stays asleep if the car is moving, but not if it's parked) and I was truly amazed by the number of people driving something 2-3x my car's size who neither

whatever's going on with those things on the end of the probe make me think of the old style flood light fixtures with some globe type led bulbs put in them. I know it's something fancy and technical and expensive, but still!
