So apparently it’s a starter pack that has caused the huge influx of followers.

To clarify: I’m not located in the US nor am I a citizen.

I do have an interest in global liberation and Land Back for Indigenous peoples, even as a settler.

Hello again.

We didn't make November's goal, so I'm afraid I still need the same goal in December. Heating fuel, bills, feed, and groceries, still. I'm sorry I have to ask.

Still an immediate $500 goal, and $2000 for the month. Apologies.

I am now two days past due on rent. I could be put out on the streets at any time. I have NO income because I am disabled and unable to work; and awaiting my appeal for SSDI.

I simply cannot continue going through this every two weeks.

Still $690 short; needed RIGHT NOW. Help me, please.

This week, a federal judge wrote that federal agents – largely from ICE, but also CBP and other agencies operating in D.C. – had adopted an “arrest first, ask questions later” approach, ignoring legal requirements around when and how immigrants can be detained.

@maustermuhle.bsky.social reports:
Federal judge limits warrantless immigration arrests in D.C.
Lawyers say federal agents unlawfully operated under an ‘arrest first, ask questions later’ policy.

If you cared about ending government enforced family separation you'd want to abolish the family policing, foster, and adoption industries, not just ICE.

You still make exceptions when the lie satisfies you.

Reminders, as public health officials warn of a very bad flu season:

🧵

* Washing hands is not a strategy for a respiratory virus. N95s, ventilation, air filtration -- especially in hospitals.

* We should have been cleaning indoor air with the same effort we put into cleaning drinking water.

AI-powered police body cameras, once taboo, get tested on Canadian city's 'watch list' of faces
Police in Edmonton, Canada, have started a pilot project using AI-equipped body cameras to detect faces on a "high risk" watch list.

Most discussions about “misinformation” treat the problem as if people simply don’t have good enough critical-thinking skills. It sounds intuitive, but it’s not entirely accurate. The problem isn’t just individual ignorance, it’s the structure of the information environment people are placed into.

This is horrific and exactly what those of us in Black studies, gender studies, women’s studies have been warning our colleagues in the sciences about. Their seeming neutrality will not save them.
Heartbreaking. The University of Nebraska will terminate its entire Earth science department.

One of the country's most successful and respected geology & climate programs: gone.

When ideologues & politicians are threatened by the very act of studying climate change, I wonder: who of us is next?
It's over.

Despite the fact that the academic council recommended against it, despite the fact that the program brought in more tuition than it cost, and despite the fact that Nebraskans need & deserve this expertise, Earth & Atmospheric Sciences will be cut.

Huh. Caught an interesting update about an animal rescue that I had followed on FB. A few years ago, they made a post that was very racist, specifically anti-Indigenous, and when called out for it, they doubled down. So I unfollowed.

Found out today the rescue was raided due to animal cruelty.

Their apartment has a big blown out window that remains uncovered & it’s December.

Can anyone help her with shares or donations? She’s only 12 & she’s been thru so much. Still stuck at $1

The mobile phone carrier we use asked me to fill out a survey.

I had the spoons at that moment, so I did.

They wanted to know if they should jump on the “year unwrapped/rewind/replay” bandwagon.

As a cell phone service provider.

And would that make more people choose them.
