not to be boomer-millennial but i never want to answer a stranger’s question online again when i only know the answer because i myself spent 2% effort and literacy to locate it myself with ease and they are somehow unable to do the same

I know this is small peanuts but I have to complain about this again. The way that DoorDash makes it hard to tip NYC delivery drivers is so disgusting to me. I wrote this last year and sort of forgot about it — until tonight, when I ran into the same issue.

DoorDash won’t let you tip NYC drivers without the app
On web, there’s no way to easily tip DoorDash drivers.

the term "content creator" served it's purpose very well. conditioning people into seeing everyone as anyone and everything as anything, mostly among the ruling class who found it most convenient for their pockets. in that sense, generating slop is the final result of content creation
the enthusiasm for generative AI would not have been possible without prior decades of capitalist conditioning to view works of art as products, rather than acts of culture and shared human life
I think the fundamental gap here is that non-creative people think that creative people make things for the end product, when in fact it’s the act of creation and not the end point that makes it worthwhile.

the “you should love ai” line is best outlined by a recent joe rogan episode. he LOVES ai music and always tells guests this. a guest pushed back on him saying “i’ve heard ai podcasts are amazing too” and joe rogan immediately pushes back. losers love it until it comes for them

there is a job opening for a mid-levelish clojure engineer at my company, it’s remote with an nyc office option, you will have to do some LLM stuff but nothing too obnoxious. putting a passive message out in case anyone is looking

one good thing about the last few years is that i feel like the US is finally coming around to absurdist humor in a big way. because of the horrors that surround us daily and such

This is truly a film that speaks to our gracious executive leaders and the culture they have cultivated.”

If there's anything AI has done for me this year, it's awakened a hunger for person-to-person connection. Hanging out with a baby, going to see live theatre, eating food someone made, appreciating art from 200 years ago, from 800 years ago, from 10,000 years ago... Human creation is so wonderful.

Compare the statement about the antisemitic terror attack in Australia by the Israeli Prime Minister with the one by Zohran Mamdani, and ask yourself who more truly cares about condemning antisemitism, as opposed to using it to promote unrelated politics.
