Grid scale batteries are changing our electricity system. Excellent new visual story on batteries in FT today shows just how far this technology has evolved.

Fasten your seatbelts, this is just the beginning.

With the average new car at $50,000, let's look at the real costs of "freedom":

✅ Decades of debt
✅ Social isolation for every trip
✅ A leading cause of death & injury

Car dependency is a financially and socially crippling system, not a choice.

I actually hadn't heard this one before, it's like the male version of finding an old farmer with a bad cough to settle down with

Well, that was a new one!
Had to literally run to avoid getting hit by a driver this morning as he turned right into a side road at high speed, on the wrong side of the road, in fact on the wrong side of a pedestrian refuge! We have to share our streets with these maniacs 😔
(See alt text)
Screenshot from Google earth showing the junction. A green arrow represents me crossing the side road. A blue box and arrow shows another car waiting in the right turn lane on the main road, waiting to turn in. A red box and arrow represents the maniac in his car. He obviously couldn't wait patiently for his turn, so decided to undertake the blue car on the wrong side of the pedestrian refuge.

Read again what I wrote: *helps* prevent.

Several of my family members and multiple friends have died of cancer. I take every precaution I can: checkups, diet, and exercise. It’s proven to *help*.

If they don't want that, they could have kerb separated cycle lanes on Marylebone Road. It is the more obvious East/West corridor for me.

Yours is a callous way to phrase it, but yes, we know conclusively that exercise helps prevent it.

The form needs every detail imaginable including statements from our child's GP and school. I struggle to get medical appointments at the GP, I know for certain they won't be crafting letters for me.

This will take weeks to collate and complete. They are banking on us saying 'oh fuck it'.

HMRC have stopped our child benefit, claiming we left the country at Easter and never returned. We were away for Easter. Partner is PAYE employed. We've crossed the border multiple times since.

They helpfully enclose a FOURTEEN page form we need to fill out to restart child benefit.

If someone invented a miracle pill that reduced your risk of cancer, heart disease and strokes as well as boosting mood, memory, and lifespan it would be the most popular drug ever. Except we already have it and it's called exercise, and most people can't be arsed doing it.

Musk is committed to bringing down the democratically-elected U.K government and, alongside turning Twitter into a megaphone for his deeply sinister worldview, he’s using the full force of his billionaire’s cheque book to fund our democracy’s enemies.

This tweet has been doing the rounds on Twitter now that Nathan Gill has pleaded guilty.

If only someone had tried to investigate UKIP & Russian interference 🧐

There’s another timeline where the Guardian supported me, doubled down on the investigation & I look 5 years younger ..

Why the hell does Trump’s Department of War keep using RUSSIAN military images? This is by no mean the first time this has happened.

I live 5min walking distance from 2 supermarkets, 2 pubs, a cinema and numerous restaurants, 10min from town, 15min from work, 30min bus ride to nearest city. Despite this, car-owing zealots seem to think I'm an idiot because I don't spend £200+ a month on a vehicle I don't need.
