The period 2018-24 was dominated by particular cliques of MPs unifying with the press, recognising that they can get whatever they want so long as they pick their agreed stories then scream them at the public in unison, without deviation. Look at what they’ve done with the power they gave themselves
Today has been a massive victory for anti-migrant voices.

Not only is Labour doing 90% of what they want, but they're also making it much easier for them to get the remaining 10% later

Mark rightly identifies here one of the most concerning but thus far underdiscussed elements of this white paper – it seems to imply that Article 3 (which prohibits torture and inhuman or degrading treatment) should be made a qualified right. That is, in my view, genuinely terrifying.
