It's annoying that Black Texans, who are as Texan as they come, are seen as outsiders to the myth of the West. Their history has willfully been erased by some of the worst people on earth even though our American holidays are literally rooted in their existence.

Texas has been exploited by some of the worst people for so, so long. And while voter disenfranchisement is an issue, there are still far too many non-black people who will reject a genuine black candidate and choose that exploitation as long as the face of it is not black.
