Old buildings are full of quiet stories written into the wood.
Moving the couch in preparation for the tree to come in always shows my favorite part of the floors here.
Our house was built in 1901 as a schoolhouse, and this room was the "gymnasium" so you can see marks in the gym floor from when they put on plays and moved bleachers.

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!
