The statement "Jews lived through the Holocaust, and therefore they (we) have a special obligation to fight the genocide of other communities" is a statement that is at best problematic, if not outright antisemitic, when said by non-Jews, but is also foundational to my own sense of Jewish ethics.

I've just found a interesting coincidence in my genealogy. My great grandfather on one side of my family was apparently the only Jew in his shul to have a beard and on the other side my great grandfather was the only one in his shul without a beard.

I have never seen sufficient homophobia in any Jewish online space, but twice this week I've seen such antisemitism from LGBT spaces that I've left. It's just ridiculous.

A bunch of normie liberals at the protest. Like half the big rigs that drove by honked in support, and the guy next to me was a republican. I think this movement has a lot of steam.

The way some of you talk on here it makes me pretty sure that you think that if I went to the Israeli Consulate to get a copy of my birth certificate — as I have had to do! — that it would be fair game to shoot me as I left because I had the audacity to be born in a country you don't like.
